Welcome to The Elephant Restaurant

The Elephant is a two storey restaurant with the more informal brasserie on the ground floor and the Michelin starred, The Room on the first. The Elephant was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today.  We aim to source all our ingredients locally, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham.

Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy, the restaurant overlooks the beautiful Torbay harbour.

Diners in the Brasserie can enjoy a delicious menu of local and sustainable fish, meat and vegetables, sourced from the surrounding area, in an informal and attractive setting.

The Room offers Michelin starred food and service without the formalities.

All our dishes change regularly depending on which locally grown and reared (many sourced from our dedicated farm) ingredients are at their best.

English Culinary TeamEnjoy dishes prepared by England’s best team of chefs Following the success of our English Culinary Team dinner on June 30th, we’ve decided to give you another opportunity to experience the cooking of the 2012 gold winning team.

From 6.30pm on Thursday October 23rd, The English Culinary Team will once again take over The Elephant’s kitchen to practice their three course entry in advance of the Culinary World Cup in November.

Simon is the captain of the senior culinary team and the last time they competed at the competition they brought home gold. Dinner will be priced at £37.50 and you can book here.
