The Bocuse d'Or 2009
Lyon France 27th - 28th January 2009

Our Head Chef, Simon Hulstone recently competed in the prestigious Bocuse d’Or Europe.  The Bocuse d’Or was founded by internationally renowned chef Paul Bocuse and has been contested every two years since 1987.  The competition is widely regarded as the pinnacle of culinary competitions by those in the industry.

Simon was chosen to represent the United Kingdom by the Academy of Culinary Arts and competed in the European qualification heat of the Bocuse d’Or on 1 July.  He was one of 12 chefs representing their individual countries to qualify for the final of the Bocuse d’Or to be held in stLyon in January 2009.  This is an extraordinary achievement and Simon is now working hard on the dishes that will be presented in the final.

Over the coming months Simon will be testing various parts of his competition dishes on The Elephant Menus and we would like to invite plenty of feedback from our regular dining guests on these to help him in the lead up to the final.

This page will be kept up to date with news on Simon's Bocuse d'Or preparations as well as Simon's latest dishes as he creates them for the competition.
